You may find yourself eating more\, exercising less\, and turning to food for distraction\, to ease stress\, or simply have some pleasure in the day. All of which may have contributed to weight gain. Recognizing that life isn’t going to return to normal quickly\, it is time to establish healthy habits with this new normal. \nJoin us for a remote four-week interactive class to explore the physical and emotional factors of body weight. We will take advantage of gathering from our homes to discuss and experiment with how you are eating right now: looking at what is in your pantry\, sharing a meal together to explore portion sizes\, eating pace and how to increase your enjoyment of eating. Participants will learn practical\, research-based techniques for improving nutritional health along with a sustainable\, individualized weight management plan. Our holistic approach includes the full scope of a healthy lifestyle: stress\, sleep\, mindset\, exercise\, and food. SUMMARY:Emotional Eating Support Group
DESCRIPTION:Every Thursday at 5:30 – 7:00 pm (pst)\nJanuary 21 – March 11 (8 weeks) \nThis 8-week program combines therapeutic meal experience with cognitive behavior work to help participants overcome eating in stressful or emotional situations. Participants bring their own dinner and begin to practice distinguishing between emotional and physical hunger in a small and judgment-free environment. Participants take steps to understand the internal and external stressors that trigger disordered eating behavior and begin to develop a nurturing and compassionate relationship with their body\, with the help of our behavioral specialist. \nInstructor: Sabine Haake\, MA\, RD\nLocation: Virtual Meeting Room (Zoom) \nHMO Brown & Toland members pay no fee.
