New Targeted Treatments for HER2 Positive Patients
Do you have HER2 positive breast cancer?
Perhaps you received “neoadjuvant” preoperative IV (intravenous) therapy with chemotherapy along with antibody therapies directed against the HER2 protein on cancer cells. Depending on the cancer response at surgery, you might continue those antibody therapies or a different one. If the disease is hormone receptor positive (ER/PR+), you might also receive additional medication. Lastly, if you have spread of cancer (stage IV) there are 3 additional new HER2 targeted agents that were approved in 2020.
