Breast Health: Lifestyle, Screening, & Early Detection
October 14, 2020 @ 4:00 pm - 5:30 pm
FreeCHRC is kicking off October’s Breast Cancer Awareness month with a presentation featuring two experts in women’s health.
The first of our 2-part Breast Cancer Awareness series is Dr. Peled and Dr. Pollycove’s panel. The doctors will share data slides and have a freestyle discussion, then answer questions from the audience. You can expect the doctors to address the following questions and topics:
Risk assessment: an evolving and important starting place
How much does family history matter?
How do my life style choices affect my risk?
How consumers think & behave
Should I get genetic testing?
Is the radiation from mammograms harmful?
Why don’t we just have MRI’s every year if we are worried about missing something bad on mammography?
What about whole breast ultrasound? Who should have that?
Presenters: Ricki Pollycove, MD (San Francisco Integrative Gynecology)
& Anne Peled, MD (Sutter Health CPMC)
